I’ve spoken to a few people about if I should write bad reviews or not, and I’ve decided that in order for restaurants to correct their mistakes or flaws these reviews are crucial.
Let’s just take a moment to think about something… a restaurant that serves BALLS as it’s main course. I’m with it. Le Ballpark Montreal has all kinds of different BALLS. They’ve got lamb BALLS, beef BALLS, fish BALLS, pork BALLS, you name the BALL, and they’ve got it. I’m not going to lie, our experience at Le Ballpark Montreal wasn’t good at all. However, I have spoken to a few people who have been, and they said that their time there was much different.
The overall atmosphere of Le Ballpark Montreal is pretty great. It’s a cool new place to go enjoy some interesting BALLS on a date, or in my case, with some of my buddies. Le Ballpark is the kind of restaurant that has their menus written on a chalk board on either end of the restaurant. The kicker is, there’s a specific way of ordering that for some reason wasn’t easy to understand.
You would think that if the customer is having trouble with the menu the waiter/waitress would help you understand. For some reason we couldn’t get through to our waitress. For their benefit, I am going to say that the entire staff was having an off night.
Besides for them not having BACON, the food was actually pretty good. We got an asortment of BALLS, but the ones that stood out from the rest were the lamb BALLS. The onion soup was an onion soup, pretty delicious. The house salad was apparently amazing, with a nice thick wedge of iceberg lettuce, and cubes of pork. The poutine was a really good poutine. The caesar salad was watery, and the anchovy was really fishy. What really caught my attention were the smelts. They were really good! It kind of threw with eating the bones, but I just said “screw it”, #YOLO.
What really surprised me was when we got the bills. We were four people, two of which had a few drinks, one who had a beer, and me, who just had water. Because of the service that we had already gotten, I had accepted the fact that I was going to be paying a quarter of all their drinks. However, when she brought the bills, it was exactly how I wanted it to be. My bill was $27.00 after tax and tip. I think the highest bill was around $60.00.
Overall, the food was good, the atmosphere was great, it didn’t cost a fortune, but the service was off.Le Ballpark Montreal – Restaurant Review I’ve spoken to a few people about if I should write bad reviews or not, and I’ve decided that in order for restaurants to correct their mistakes or flaws these reviews are crucial.
